Great interview. I particularly enjoyed the psychiatrist's positive recollection of her adolescence. I and my friends largely look back at our own adolescences in a similar way. We enjoyed the increasing strength of our bodies and our minds, the increasing freedom from our parents while still being protected from crushing adult responsibilities. I also remember our parents speaking positively of their adolescences. I agree that the blanket negative messaging around teenage years is a recent phenomenon. We should be encouraging teenagers to live up to the potential of their youth rather than constantly bemoaning it in a misguided attempt to sympathize with them.
But, the psychiatrist's own practice to one side, what a terrible indictment of psychiatry. Given the heavy odds that a child's gender delusions will be affirmed, one is better off keeping that child as far away as possible from professionals of all stripes and just hoping that s/he grows out of it.

What happened was the 2024 US presidential election. The eu has no priority other than the War On Russia, namely getting the Americans to fight that war for them, and they will do nothing that pisses the Americans off.
This also explains the tepid european response to the War On Iran. They want the Americans to focus on the War On Russia and not get sidetracked, but outright condemning the War On Iran would really have consequences for American support in the particular war that the europeans care about.
