Thank you for doing so much work following these threads that increasingly bind too many European countries to the absurd gender religion. Also, for showing us the faces of these self- congratulatory women who are just too happy to grease the wheels of the machinery which expedites it.
Beyond gender SHOULD be simply using sex as the guide, not saying that sex is irrelevant. Sex will always be relevant, for all the obvious reasons, and trying to obfuscate it is a pointless and often counterproductive task. GENDER should be irrelevant, as the identity politics within are the source of the bs.
I wish for a country to truly embrace the "sex work is work" phrase that human trafficking and whoring supporters peddle. Make it a real law, have it so that a woman on unemployment benefits gets offered a prostitution job by the government and if she refuses it she loses the benefits. Make it so that SAP, Lidl, and Bosch can have in their work contracts that you must have sex with your superior if asked to, it's a job responsibility like any other after all, no different than getting coffee. Make it so that no woman can get disability benefits, as all women are capable of being prostitutes.
What gets on my tits is the hypocrisy, the bad faith and the tiresome stiff-necked pretense of adults such as Daphne Joel that they were born yesterday. I'm pretty sure that if you asked her for a list of birthday presents that she has given her mother over the years, it might include things like a silk shawl and a porcelain vase; and if you asked her for the list of gifts for her father, it might include a necktie and a toolbox. Moreover, if she had given her mother the toolbox and her father the silk shawl, everybody would have thought that she had lost her mind.
In other words, all of us, including Prof. Joel, have to meet the world half-way. There is therefore no genuine expectation on her part that the vast majority of ordinary people will ever get BeyondGenderBinary anymore than she would ever expect ordinary people to feel comfortable leaving their children alone for the night with a babysitter who is a man wearing a dress. The real goal is just to shame everyone into publicly participating in lies to the contrary.
Besides, some version of what Daphne Joel claims to want was already tried during Maoist China, when men and women had to wear the same clothes and do the same jobs and everybody was miserable. I find that to listen to and discuss ideas such as hers, I have to do the intellectual equivalent of getting down on my hands and knees. It's ridiculous and insulting.
Absolutely amazing reporting, thank you. They (city council) want to legalize public sex in gay bathhouses here in my town, Minneapolis, and one booster said it's all fine and healthy because we now have prep and u = u. Made me wonder how direct the pharma connection is to our city council, but sadly they don't need much convincing if it's a bad idea. As if the actual gays here had mounted a thunderous campaign to demand bathhouses for goodness' sake!
So let me get this straight. Men behave like men because we call them men and expect them to behave like men and if we didn't have the categories of men and women we would all behave the same? So would we see a 50/50 split in the prison population? Would 50% of the despots on the planet be female?
Still, words used on that context and for effect are lazy and alienating to some UK people as well. Why not spend time coming up with a word that is pertinen, no alienating. And explanatory.
Yes, that's clear when watching British tv programs. Ricky Gervaise loves the term used in that context. Still doesn't change the fact that obscenities focusing on intimate body parts is attention getting but just a wee bit lazy.
My thoughts on Joel’s brain research is that she illustrates the cultural influence of Enlightenment thinking, ie Cartesian statement/belief: “I think therefore I am” foregrounds the brain and rationality, scientific reason as the site of the person, their “I”. What about their creativity, compassion, ethics, etc.? Problem: harder to measure and study scientifically. A bit circular doncha think?
I think it is a bit defeatist to assume that men have an inevitable genetic predisposition to sexual violence, and violence in general, and that this can never be changed at all. Although I agree there is rather a lot of work to do before we can ignore the fact that some people are men.
I think so too. The reality is though, thanks to the way we evolved, violence (capacity for, inclination to) is more common in males. Look at the state of the antlers of those big animals on the steppes, whatever they're called. It's how you snare the babes: by jabbing each other with your nose horns etc.
Yes, sorry I misunderstood your original point. Agree whatever we can do about psychology the physical strength and reproductive capability risks can't change.
How about first we try to socialize ("consciousness raise") women like the good Professor Daphna Joel to stop advancing trans insanity? That might actually work towards solving the problem. Just need to get past the #YesAllWomen are blameless trope.
Oh, no. Did you have to use the word "cunt"? Quite put me off. I'd have read the story anyway, and it is indeed horrifying, but the headline should be changed so that the derogatory term for women's genitals was replaced by a word or phrase that refected that judge's statements.
But it’s different in Ireland and the UK. It has a completely different connotation. Here in the US, “cunt” is a vicious word, the worst slur against women. It’s not like that across the pond. There, it’s just like saying “asshole” or “jerk” over here.
Similarly, to us Americans “fanny” is an utterly benign word. Not so over there. To Irish and Brits, “fanny” is like our version of “cunt.” Never say “fannypack” over there or you’ll offend everybody!

I want my badge

Thanks for this - very depressing indeed.

'Secondly, and this really gets on my tits...'

Oh. Thanks, Lina.

#NotAllMen
Fair point. But I still think that men could be socialised to the point that the prevalence of violence was a great deal less.

I love that word. I love all the bad words.
Oh, you little devil! And you write so well.

Either way, it is a lazy way to signal something. Word choice that conveys what?
