A good day for Swedish castration fetishists

Sweden's new trans law allows anyone to fake their legal sex. It also welcomes nullos into the LGBTIQ+ tribe.

Swedish politicians voted in favour of Europe’s latest self-ID law today after months of political drama. As with similar laws across the world, the new legislation will allow anyone (read: anyone) to identify legally as the opposite sex for whatever reason they choose, be it gender dysphoria or having the absolute horn for being perceived as female.

The intense debate over the proposal was complicated by a patchwork coalition government that includes right-wing nationalists as the second biggest party. The acronyms and alignments are convoluted but the TLDR is that there are enough conservatives in government that it doesn’t make that much sense that it got through so easily, considering how conservative surges have obliterated genderwoo laws in Italy and neighbouring Netherlands.

The bill even had the support of the centre-right prime minister, (a “weak and poor negotiator”, I was told by an anon Swedish Twitter TERF), even though a big majority of his party were not in favour.

Pseudo safeguard

The PM’s people and their nationalist wingmen appear to have insisted that some kind of vague medical diagnosis be built into the bill, thus giving the impression that a middle way compromise had been reached (ie it can’t be claimed that' it’s “pure self-ID”, like an earlier version of the bill). But despite the fact that any application for a change in legal sex will require a diagnosis from a medical professional, it appears to be a bit of spoofery: the applicant can ask any kind of doctor for this piece of paper, and the diagnosis is to be based on self-determination.

If your doctor says no, you just go to another one.

As we know, people share the names of affirming doctors with each other in online groups (see this puberty blocker doctor in Brussels, for example) so it’s self-ID with an annoying extra step that doesn’t represent any kind of real safeguard.

“What looks like a middle way is actually quite radical,” I was told by the same TERF.

A second, secondary bill

In terms of medical interventions, the self-ID law itself won’t make it any easier to get surgery or hormones, which means that the administrative procedure and the medical one are still firmly “decoupled”, a strategy that was described in the infamous “Denton’s document” as the ideal way to dispel the ick people are likely to get when considering how they feel about self ID.

However, a largely uncommented-upon separate bill that covered gender surgeries was voted in alongside the main self-ID law, as part of the same package.

Journalist Erik Lindberg and paediatrician Mats Reimer have both written about the provisions in this accompanying bill and how they allow for genital surgeries for people who claim to be neither male nor female, or both male and female at the same time.

Current rules dictate that “transsexual” surgeries must make the genitals look like those of the opposite sex. However, the lefties and moderates in the coalition inserted an amendment that says surgery must conform with a person’s gender identity, and it includes the text:

"The surgical interventions covered by the new law are therefore not necessarily aimed at making the genitals more like those of the other sex."

Such surgeries are not allowed under current rules, Lindberg claims. However, according to Reimer, there is evidence such procedures have already been happening in Sweden (even if they have hitherto not been approved by the medical authorities per se).

Reimer wrote last week that the bill on genital surgery has flown under the radar and that “the proposal claims that there are many more gender identities than male and female, and that these non-binary people should be given the same opportunity for gender-correcting care.”

Earlier this month, Lindberg wrote that the law “opens the door for surgical construction of new types of bodily genitalia or to completely "reset" the genitalia.” When I contacted him today after the proposal passed, he explained it thusly: the main argument (for passing the law) was that such treatments won’t be used because of “lack of scientific evidence”. When he interviewed the Swedish health authority about it, they said they thought it was just about using “inclusive language”.

I guess we’re about to find out.

A few years ago, when an earlier version of the current bill was proposed (it would have reduced the age for surgery to 15), the authorities commissioned a review. One of the contributing medics was a plastic surgeon called Gunnar Kratz. He said he had already created a vagina for a man while keeping his testicles attached - but that man was claiming a woman gender identity, not non-binary - he was simply anxious about parting with his nads.

A charitable reading of the surgery provision would go like this: some people are tormented by their genitalia in ways that most normies wouldn’t understand, and may simply want castration/ablation/enhancements/combos of all of the above as a way to deal with their agony.

But even if that’s the case, the drafters haven’t accounted for all the horny weirdos out there for whom body modification is a kink. I guess they’re about to FA and FO.

Political drama

In a possible sign of the changing times, the proposed legislation did not pass sneakily “under the radar” as was infamously done in other countries, including my own fair isle, Ireland. The fact that it didn’t glide smoothly betwixt the legislative chambers could be because the tide is turning on self falsification, as TERFs would love to believe. Or, it could simply be the result of having right-wingers in charge.

Or, bear with me, it would be that the former contributed to the latter and people in general are pissed off by more than just immigration and the regulation of snuff (that’s a real drama up there, check it out).

Sweden buries its transvestites

Sweden is known to be chill about sex and sexuality generally, and it has a long history of support groups for autogynephiles (men who are aroused by the thought of themselves as women).

Before the term autogynephilia was coined in the 80s by the sexologist Ray Blanchard, the phenomenon was commonly known as transvestic fetishsim. However this term didn’t cover all the bases, because it concerns only the desire to wear female clothing. On the contrary, many of these men care little about “women’s clothes” and are more obsessed with our anatomical features (like having big bouncy bazoongas to fondle), or even grosser, bodily functions (check out the recent reification of sex criminals lactating and feeding little babies because it turns them on. Now there’s a historic scandal I’m glad to not be duped into going along with.)

Virginia Prince was a famous American crossdresser and the granddaddy of transvestites. He came up with a philosophy called “Full Personality Expression” which he said described straight men’s desire to let loose their hyper-stereotypey feminine side. He insisted transvestites were simply a type of “sexually normal individual who has discovered the existance [sic] of his or her 'other side' and seeks to express it,”.

His philosophy, and subscription magazine, were so popular in Sweden that a bunch of erotic crossdressers launched their own version, Free Personality Expression Sweden (FPES), all the way back in 1966.

The trans medical model that was in vogue at the time of the emergence of FPES declared that you had to be one of the “gay ones” to get sign-off from the medical professionals for what you desired. The medical gatekeepers of yore (including the precursor to WPATH) wanted to exclude fetishists from being considered for transition, which ultimately led to decades of transvestites lying about their condition.

Anyway, Virginia Prince was deeply pissed off that he had to pretend to be “in the wrong body” or profess “cross-gender identification” in order to access the estrogen pills that would give him breasts to play with. Many men in Sweden agreed with him.

The wish among Swedish FPE adherents, as well as the men who made up its Irish, UK, French/Belgian chapters, was that everyone would accept this de-fetished, very-much-not-gay type of cock-in-a-frock and learn to be more chill out about it.

This effort to normalise and mainstream transvestism didn’t work, however, because despite their protestations, it has always been quite clear that these men are driven by fetishistic desires. Virginia Prince enforced a a strict no-erotica policy in his magazines and clubs as part of his mission to de-fetishise his and his mates’ condition, despite making it known that his own “gender journey” started with wanking in his mother’s tights. To put it bluntly: you wouldn’t need to outlaw “petticoat punishment” in reader submissions unless that was a thing your readers kept submitting.

Many transvestites loudly protested Prince’s tyrannical no-fap rules, and the inevitable splits occurred. Lo, the FPE pervert respectability mission failed, the lads hitched their wagon to the LGB rights cause, where they have enjoyed unprecedented success pretending they are civil rights strugglers and not furtive masturbators with a throbbing need for you to call them “ma’am”.

Now, Full Personality Expression Sweden has rebranded itself the very respectable “Association for transgenders Sweden”, burying its very straight, very horny AGPs deep in the bowels of history. They don’t talk about their maleness anymore, of course, nor about their historic homophobia.

They all knew

Another Swedish anon TERF shared evidence with me that contributors and researchers involved in early (late aughts) Swedish public consultations about trans laws made sure that lawmakers were fully aware of the existence of this other “category” of men. But that was in the before-times. Now we all pretend they don’t exist.

The latest legislative successes are an ode to all those men who spent decades furiously wanking in the shadows. Come hither, boys. It’s your moment to wank right out in the open. The state has said it’s okay.

I would just like to add on a positive note that ILGA Europe hasn’t been bigging up the Swedish happenings, as far as I can tell, and the domestic Swedish rainbow terrorists themselves don’t seem to have even mentioned that surgery redefinitions, the “penile-preserving vaginoplasty” Franken-procedures that will be possible as of next year. This might indicate that they are aware that the wider public might not be on board.

Success? I guess we’ll have to take it. But as I type, the leftorgasm over a perceived oppressed minority appears to be in full climax. Ok Lisa, if these lads show up on your daughter’s swim team I guess you can find another club. That’s not the case for most women and girls. But thanks anyway.
